Happy Professional Speakers Celebration Day 🎉Today, March 14th (π day - 3.14), is a special day for all of us in the speaking profession as we unite globally to celebrate the incredible impact professional speakers have on businesses, communities, and individuals worldwide.

Making a Bigger Pie Together!

There's something beautifully symbolic about celebrating our profession on Pi Day. As the legendary Cavett Robert (co-founder of the National Speakers Association) wisely said: "Don't worry about how we divide up the pie. There is enough for everybody. Let's just make a bigger pie!"

These words resonate deeply with me! As a proud member of the Professional Speakers Association of Southern Africa (hashtag#PSASA) and someone privileged to serve on the Board of the Global Speaker Federation (hashtag#GSF), I've witnessed firsthand how our profession thrives when we collaborate rather than compete.

A Global Movement of Voices for Change!

Today, across 35 countries and 17 professional speaking associations, thousands of speakers are celebrating our shared mission of inspiring, educating, and transforming audiences. Dr John Molidor sparked this initiative (The President of the GSF at the time) three years ago.

Today we:

• Celebrate and recognise the amazing speakers in our associations
• Showcase the exceptional expertise and talent within our global community
• Inspire the next generation of speakers to join our ranks
• Raise public awareness about the tremendous value professional speakers bring
• Strengthen our global connections across borders
• Continue growing as a positive force for change in the world

What I love most about being a professional speaker is witnessing that magical moment when an audience shifts from merely listening to truly hearing - when concepts transform into commitments, and inspiration ignites action!

My journey with PSASA has connected me with extraordinary fellow speakers who consistently demonstrate that speaking isn't just about what happens on stage - it's about the ripple effects that continue long after the applause ends.
