Feeling FOD?

How Does It Get to Wednesday So Flipping Fast?

Do you feel that things are ramping up, and changing at warp speed? Technology advances, cultural shifts, and global events unfold at a dizzying pace, leaving us struggling to keep up. In today's rapidly evolving world, before we know it, another week has flown by, and we're asking ourselves, "How did we get here?"

This constant state of flux can exacerbate feelings of being overwhelmed and stressed out. Some of my clients seem to be in a state of "FOD": Frustrated, Overwhelmed, and Distracted!

Here are a few thoughts that I share with my clients about how to 'kick that state of FOD into touch'.

It's actually quite simple, we can't "out-think" the FOD state. We need to engage in physical movement – it's medicine for your brain. MOTION SHIFTS EMOTION.

1. At your desk: do 10 -30 squats or anything to elevate your heart rate.
2. Go for a brisk walk – focus on ‘box breathing’ (Inhale 4 counts, hold 4, exhale 4)
3. Run, cycle, swim, paddle, hike ...whatever
4. Otherwise immerse yourself in nature ... I suffer from NDD (Nature Deficit Disorder) when I haven't been walking amongst beautiful trees.
5. Practice yoga, tai chi, or try non-sleep deep rest (NSDR) to dissolve physical tension.

Slow Down.Release Stress. Reclaim Clarity.
