We're in a Global Emotional Recession!
Six Seconds have released their key findings and their analysis from their Global study of Emotional Intelligence.
The 6 Key Findings are staggering.
Gen Zs were born 1997 to 2012, so their current ages are 12-27. I have two Gen Z daughters. It is fascinating chatting to them about their mates, mates of mates and colleagues.
"In the workplace, 53.7% of Gen Z scored low in the satisfaction category- which signals a high risk for disengagement and burnout."
I was wondering if businesses are re-looking their initiatives with all their employees, and especially this age group?
Here are a few of my ideas ...
1. Engaging 'Induction' Programmes that are fairly substantial and well run
2. Buddy -systems / Accountability Partners
3. Setting up work in 'Project format' and running these as short sprints.
4. Appealing collaborative workspaces
5. Mentorship programmes
I would love to hear other ideas.
Remember Emotional Intelligence is a set of definable competencies ...measurable and learnable.
We all need to be 'smarter with our feelings'.
